Gooze I'd be interested to know if that actually works.
In my tests with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and IPs in the 10.0.3.1 - 254 range - I found all artnet software I used on my PC and iPhone worked and talked to each other. However both Palette console and OLE could not be detected.
When I changed the networks subnet mask to 255.0.0.0 - All of sudden I could detect it from Palette.
I believe it's how Palette works out it's broadcast address - it always broadcasts to the entire network, eg. 10.255.255.255
Where as my other artnet tools only broadcast to the subnet - eg. 10.0.3.255.
I'm guessing my artnet tools are looking for the subnet broadcast, rather than the entire network. So setting a subnet mask of 255.0.0.0 means the entire network is the subnet.
According to the artnet spec - you need to use 255.0.0.0 so Palette is not officially incorrect.
