PixelMapper available to play with

Please find attached my PixelMapper application.

The PDF explains quite well what it does and how to use it. I recently used this on the exterior of a casino which had almost 2000 RGB fixtures and 40 Mac 600 Exteriors. That is 12 universes of DMX. BIG RIG! It worked great.
The code is not posted yet, but let me know if you're itching for it.

This looks like it will be a lot of fun! I can't wait for the opportunity to play with it. I was reading through the PDF and one of the first things it says to do is patch the PixelMapper fixture. I cannot find it in 10.5.23. I assume that it is just missing from the fixture library and that will get fixed soon... right?

It may still be called the Image Viewer (I though Brian changed it - sorry)

Hey Rob - I am remote so don't have Autocad. I DO have Illustrator which will export DXF. Can you take a look at the attached, and tell me why PixelPatch will not "see" any fixtures?

Probably has something to do with the layers. I think Illustrator will not let me control the name of the layer (it will have to be whatever you see it as - probably "Layer 1"). Anychance of altering your code to allow for this little problem? If you do, you can then easily create your grid in EXCEL (including spacing), paste it into Illustrator and save as DXF.

(any reason why we cannot upload a dxf file without zipping it?)

Hey John,
I opened the dxf file, or tried to, and it came up as an invalid file basically.

Try using this open source program... http://sourceforge.net/projects/dxf/
to edit and create your dxf files rather then Illustrator.

Me too John. My AutoCAD 2000i will not open it (in fact - it crashed it)

Attached is 20x10 DXF. This makes it easy to see what the Pixel Mapper is doing on the screen.

Robert,

Is there a way to dissolve from one image to another or do I have to fade the image out then change image and fade back up?

Matt,

The idea, is eventually to do what your asking by adding another pixel mapping "fixture",
and an addtional Pixel Mapper session.

The concept of this thing, is for the pixel mapper to behave and "feel" like any other moving fixture.

Although VARI*LITE is the best fixture on the planet, they don't dissolve between gobos. ;)

They do if the gobos are in two different wheels and a twidle of the focus button :D
