Urgent, lost control
Urgent, lost control
I loaded 10.4.2 today and things are not working properly. I have a preset palette 48/96, after installing the update i lost use of the preset wide buttons, a/b cross faders, rel pb button, go button, step up step down buttons, stop back button. All these function work on the keyboard but not on the console. Could some one take a look at this and let me know what might be going on. Everything else seems to be working properly.

Re: Urgent, lost control
Until you get some real support, in case the hardware mucked up the update, what we generally do is roll back the update and try again. We have actually been quite successful going back to v3.4.15, and then forward again.
If the issue remains, complain again.

Thanks John, I reloaded 10.3 and the console functions fine although all my files on the console have been converted and will not load in 10.3. I reinstalled 10.4 and during the install a dump file was created. I rebooted the console and it came up fine. I can't find the dump file in windows explorer and the console still has its same problem. I am going to reinstall 10.3 and let it ride untill strand can let me know what might be going on. I have back ups of my files so i should be able to load them.

I've reproduced the problem here and am working with the panel firmware developer to rectify the situation.
Please hold tight while we get it sorted.

Thanks for the reply Gary, look forward to the fix.
Re: Urgent, lost control
This sounds very similar to the problem we had with our classic palette after Robert and I upgraded the software on it, the LP Live and Rack Palette last week. I know Gary and Robert worked through getting the buttons to all work, although that did end in a blue screen of death, but I don't know if that was related or not.

Re: Urgent, lost control
My classic palette did the same thing; the command keys would not respond although the number keys would.
Going back to 10.3.1 just resulted in my show file being unopenable.
Not sure what to do... start all over writing in 10.3.1?
As unappealing as that sounds, risking losing all control during techs has to be worse...

Re: Urgent, lost control
If the show is mostly "conventional" lighting, export the show to an ASCII show file using 10.4.2.
10.3.1 will import that.

Re: Urgent, lost control
barbarab -- did you try a full restart of your console after the upgrade? A full power-off may have been necessary.
We're looking into Classic Palette issues here as well. How old is your desk -- and what version were you running previously (I assume 10.3.1)?
Looks like the firmware upgrade had a problem. A full reboot of the desk should solve it -- and once the command panel updates you should have no issues.
