Predictive Command Line

Post by RobertBell » Fri Feb 01, 2008 4:54 pm

When you use the command line to enter a selection, you may note old selections in < > 's. These are the best match suggestions for what you've typed so far.

Say, if you've already selected fixtures 1 + 5 + 15, then do some other things, next time you start to type 1 + ...

you will see

as you start to type the selection again

If the numbers in the < >'s look like the ones you're looking for, just press SHIFT+ENTER and you will get those lights selected.

Very slick!

I think a key to get a "Big Popup" list full of stuff would be nice.

IE: You type 1/12 POSITION and start to type in D, and you can get a list in a big popup that says all the close positions,
DSC, DSL, DSR, etc.

Don't forget Brian that they can do a TEXT MATCH on Positon palettes just like you can on Color Palettes.

Also S12 softkey is SELECT. If you press S12-S12, you get the prvious selection set. If you press S12 then S12(and holding the key down) you get a large popup of the past 10 or so selections. You can then use the wheel or arrow keys to select the one you want.

I was referring to saving the extra step.
Very easy command line interpretation if the user begins typing text instead of numbers.

The "Position", or "Color", keys etc. (softkeys on OLE and CP, buttons and softkeys on LP),
just points the command line into the right palettes.
