Values in control by macro

Post by GerMan » Thu Aug 13, 2015 7:27 am

Hello,
i have a macro for this switch on of the lamps in VariLites VL440 written.
Unfortunately, this does not function because the first value is the focus time in the control.

Code: Select all

//VL440 Lamp On
31/34 control @ dmx 252
sleep 5
release
Can one access by macro also straight the 5th value in the control?

ciao, Maik

I've not done Macros like this so I'll ask Martin to respond here.

Do you mean that "Focus Time" is set as a "Control" known type?
If that's the case then its an error in the library.

Couple of things...
1. There is a dedicated "Lamp On" macro built into the system (and you can assign a shortcut to it). Press the select button on screen and then go to "Tools & Macros". You will see lamp on as an option there.
2. You can reference attributes by their dmx offset in the command line. I dont know what the control channel is on a VL440 but you can do something like this:
31/34.7 @ dmx 252
The .7 references whatever is in DMX offset 7 from the base address of the fixture.

All the same whether ".7 or ".8" ..., the dimmer (.1?) is regulated with it always and is put accordingly for 5 seconds on 99%.

Are there other possibilities for the use in the macro, without adaptation of the fixture?

What about just using the prebuilt Lamp On / Off / Reset Macros that are available in the Select > Tools & Macros list?

These function perfectly with the suitable parametres.
This create of a suitable macro which can be executed then by Shortcut, is much more comfortable.

That is available as a Special Shortcut. Go to System Properties > Special Shortcuts > Channels: Lamp On / Off / Reset. My apologies as I can't remember in what version this was added.

The bug that you found where it would apply the macro to intensity has been fixed and is in the latest beta (3.5.1.34).
