FX demo show file (living)

Post by RobertBell » Thu Jan 03, 2008 12:56 am

Always d/l the most recent file nearer the end of this thread

Attached is a demo show that gives some examples of what you can do with FX. It makes good use of HC.MessageBox too.

I'd love to see people d/l this file and add cue lists to it and u/l it again.

This is way neat, much cooler than I had thought it would be.
A "must have" for demos, trade shows, etc.!!

I second that. This is a great tool to explain effects and what the parameters do. I hope that when version 10 is released that this could be released as a tutorial. Maybe it could be bundled with a PDF describing some of the steps to create the additional cue list and other steps to get to the point of manipulating effects.

I know Robert that isn't your gig but I do appreciate what you have done. The pop up dialog box is a very cool feature. It makes me think of a suggestion. Have to go post it.

I've updated it with some suggestions from Alan. I encourage others to change the file and re-post. I want this file to live and grow.

Thanx

Hello All,

I am new to the postings but I had a question about this show file. I am not sure if it is in the newer version of Robert's file but it has to do when I play around with the square wave wrap effect. I thought it would be cool to have the lights fade out while the effect was running. When I record the next cue with all lights at zero a funny thing happens when I try to run it.

All the lights seem to bounce up to an even level before going out, even the ones that are currently at 0 but are captured in the effect. It does not happen if the cue time is 0 but that defeats the purpose of fading out the effect without having to run the grandmaster down.

Is this just part of the program on the console or is there another way to achieve what i am looking for.

Thanks all,

Alex Fabozzi

I just tried this on 10.4.8 and it seems to be working correctly. What version of code are you on? If it's 10.3.1 then you may want to try this on the 10.4.8 beta if possible.

Bobby,

I believe my problem was not making the all at 0 a blocking cue. That seemed to clear up the problem I was having.

I was on 10.3.1 but tried it again at the ELR office with Phil on 10.4.8 and it works fine.

Thanks,

Alex Fabozzi
