channel next/last intensity

Post by dwtech » Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:35 pm

I am coming from 300 series land learning a Palette VL. One thing I did a lot on my 300 was turn on a channel, then use next/last to go trough my rig finding lights. I see the highlight tool does this now, and works great. the problem I have is I used to program with that too.

For example, I would next trough all of my onstage lights. As I found say a blue down light, I recorded it to a sub or group. Then I would continue on. when I found the next one, I would turn the sub or group back on, then record, adding the light I just found to that look. Then continue on until I found all the blue down lights and programmed them all into a look of some sort somewhere.

Is this possible on the new boards? I can't seem to get it to record something from the highlight tool, and that is probably a good thing. Any suggestions on how to do the same sort of thing? (besides paper and pencil)

If I turn channel 1 on, then hit next, the selection moves, but the intensity stays on 1. I can hit [off] [next] [on], but that is not as cool and fast as one key. :)

While you are using highlight, you'll notice the fixture has a red ring around it as well, if you want to record the fixture that is current in highlight, you can just move your level wheel, and it will pick up from the highlight level. It will now have a Delta so you can record it.

Yep. I use Highlight to find what I want and then just hit the FULL button and continue using Highlight.
