Macros on bumps

Post by TerryHynes » Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:16 am

OK. So according to the Help file it is possible to put a macro on a bump button. So how do you do it. I've searched the help and this forum but I'm stumped. What I want to do is to create a macro button to run Powerpoint using the "Powerpoint Next Slide" macro. I would also like to assign it to an M key, but I can't figure that one out either. Any ideas??

Your "Action" column is probably hidden in the "Looks" display.
Right-Clickin the column header area, and select it.

At that point you can put actions on fader behavior, such as, when the level hits 100% known as "On Value".

The m keys are done from the variables page (access it from the menu bar)
The defaults as of 10.8 are button 1, button 2, button 3 etc
These refer to m1, m2, m3....

Looks as Brian says, for the bump button you want to choose 'button down'.
Note the 'bump type' column (in the look list)
with 'bump ...' the macro will run and the look will bump
With 'action ...' only the macro runs, no bump
We use the later with things like media servers - where the look handle controls the master intensity of the image - but the bump button triggers go on a second cuelist which has our images.
