Fan tool - Fan Center/Middle

Post by TaineGilliam » Thu Apr 24, 2008 9:55 pm

If you were to look at the fan options in a graphic sense -

The current Fan Center is a line which rotates about the center point.
The current Fan Ends is a "V" with fixed end points and a moving center point.
Fan Left or Right is a line with one end or the other fixed.

I really want the opposite of Fan Ends - A "V" with the center point fixed.

Cool - (but you mean the ends fixed and the middle point the moving bit)

Not really, I mean the center fixed and the ends moving but moving symmetrically - imagine a "V" not a diagonal. The current Fan Center creates the diagonal - to the left of center goes negative so the right side goes positive. In my version both sides go the same direction.

Actually, I just did Fan Ends on Intensity with the level wheel and the middle didn't move - the ends either went down or up in unison. Is that what you meant? Do you want a moving centre with fixed ends?

Start with 1/10 @ 50. Shift-Tools {Fan of your choice}, roll the wheel,

Fan Center gives me 1@20, 5@47, 6@53, 10@80.

Fan Ends gives me 1@80, 5@53, 6@53, 10@80.

So yes, the missing one is the fixed ends and moving center - the opposite of the current Fans Ends.
