I loath scalable interfaces when switching between interfaces. Hell I struggle enough with some applications on computers with different monitors. What I would see on the iPhone (480x320) and the size of the text there, doesn't mean that I would want to just scale that up if I had a 10" iTablet (approx 1300x900). I would just want more functionality. I'm not sure that a scalable app is the way to go here.

I'm not saying that if someone developed a application that I could use on a device other then the RFU I wouldn't use it. As was already mentioned, the RFU has it's place. I've used it for all sorts of things (especially since 10.5 fixed remote subs) and will continue to do so.

i think i used the wrong word, i didn't "scalable" as in size of the content, i think modular is a better word(scalable as far as functionality). having a "Remote Program" that you could select which control features you would like to use would be pretty cool. the from that program could sprout BOTH the RFU and the remote programmer. you could choose the content based on need and interface size. it could be pretty cool.
If you want to paint with light, you're going to need a Palette

Yes it certainly would be pretty cool. Modular sounds much better then scalable.
