neo stability

Post by richdesign » Fri Aug 19, 2016 4:01 pm

I'm about to pull the trigger on a Neo. I am pretty well versed on the LF software and I really like it. It just seems very intuitive to me and easy to teach to my students.

I have a colleague though who really likes the Martin M consoles. I've tried the software and just can't really get into it. I find that how it works doesn't come naturally to me. Perhaps this is because of where I have come in my experience and the types of shows we do. I do really like the options for the M hardware though.

But I do have a few questions about Neo:
Is the software stable?
Is Strand lighting here to stay?
Is Neo going to be around for a long time in the future?
Are they selling well?

Thoughts . . .?

As the Strand console guy, I'm not sure you are looking for my opinion but I'll give it anyway.

The software is stable. There are moments but I find that are always moments.
Strand Lighting is over 100 years sold. We have weathered a lot of bumps in the road and there is no indication that we are going anywhere although I can't predict the future.
NEO is the future of Strand control. Again...I can't predict the future but we don't have any plans for changing that.
Sales are doing well.

I hope that outside people respond to this for you to get a better sampling of opinions and responses.

I have been using the NEO console for over a year. I have not had any major issues other than user error. I have been very happy with my purchase and my church has been more than happy with our lighting shows. I have been able to train multiple people (volunteers) that range from age 13 - 45 on the console. I was able to set perimeters for each person so that they do not have the user error issues I created for myself.
Also is you do run into issues the Strand team is there to help. I have never been put on hold for more than 2 minutes while they attempt to decipher my issue. I have nothing but good things to say for this console.
