So this is loading a .FDB showfile and then performing an Options > Save As.

Any other info you can provide?

Are you on 3.8.1?

On 3.8, the change in the save routine is documented in the manual. Basically it works like traditional consoles work that your work is always stored in active memory but the showfile itself is not saved until you activate a save.

I'm going to ask the developer to take a look here. I believe a work around is to start a new show and import the existing data then save that as the desired show.

Hi, Couple of things...

1. When you see this problem occur can you open the Control Panel and go to the "Maintenance" tab. Click on the "Open log file folder" and in this resulting directory get the file "GBAK_Log.txt". This file gets overwritten every time a save happens (GBAK runs) so you need to copy it when you see the problem. Can you please attach it to this thread.

2. After grabbing the file go into the System Properties -> System Settings -> Advanced system settings and click on "Make database file smaller" button.
Once that has finished try saving the file again and see if the problem is resolved.

Thanks,
Martin

Thanks
John

Was this also originally an old show that you opened before doing the "Save As"?
The log you sent is indicating some exclusive lock exists on the database file. The save operation actually launches a separate operation to write the the active database to the NEO file but its being denied because NEO has exclusive access to the file.
I am not sure what is causing this lock but the "make database smaller" actually deletes the database file and recreates it so that's why that operation resolves the issue.

Without re-creating the issue here I am not sure how to investigate this further. If you see this problem again can you please email me (martin@dreamsolutions.biz) the ACTIVE SHOW.FDB file (it will zip to a fraction of its size). You will need to do a force close on NEO from the control panel before you can copy this file.

Martin
