Desk crash during patch
Hi. I was patching dimmers and fixtures and then the desk just stalled.
I reset the desk several times now, and does not work. It's completely frozen.
Is there a way to hard reset the desk?

Re: Desk crash during patch
The only thing I did different from all the previous sessions was to use a custom personality to a fixture.
Could that do such an event to happen?!!

Re: Desk crash during patch
It would depend on the fixture profile but yes it could. It sounds like there is something in the fixture profile that is not allowing it to continue.
I recommend double checking your custom profile for errors.

And now?!?
The desk is stalled. I already restarted it several times. It powers on but doesn't start.
How can I revert it?!?!

I'll send you the personality file so you can check it.

Re: Desk crash during patch
From tech support...
If it is completely frozen then the problem is most likely a fixture profile is causing it to crash. After restart they should have about 5 seconds to do something but after that the console will freeze. The way to fix that is if they can get into the main menu then they can reset the desk but it will take several times of restarting the desk and then trying to hold Shift and untag until you get into the Main Menu. I have found in the past sometime if they press the F3 button for Patch it will give them some time to get into main menu. Thanks.

Re: Desk crash during patch
That did the trick ! It was not easy to understand the timings of the buttons I needed to press. But after ten or twelve tries I managed to access the menu.
Thank you!

I bought two pieces of Chinese 7R 230W moving head beam light. I wrote their fixture by Strand Fixture Lib Creator.
After 4-5 times try of assigning fixture, 250ML was locked. When I powered on it, there were empty windows on VGA screen and none of the buttons worked.
I called my local dealer and their answer was: "Maybe your USB memory was infected by a virus. Send the desk to our office."
After this answer i searched web and found strand-dev forums. At the same time i found the answer.
Thank you again.
