Can I be so bold as to suggest that you use "thru" ONLY when talking about that button or the "thru" console function.

I would hate to think you threw "through" in the bin in favour of "thru". It is just lazy, and can be confusing for people.

Thanks for this nice short and brief explanation.. have a question for you, what happens when you "squish"? Squish on an english to dutch translation is best described as "sucked". I try to think about a min max sucktion off the high and low value's of ...
Can you explain?

My other analogy is that it works like a vice squeezing equally from both the top end and the bottom end.

Maybe "compress" would be a better choice.
