Networked control of command line?

I know you can send specific commands like recording a look and selecting a cue list via the network interface. Is it possible to enter stuff into a virtual command line the same way as if you were sitting at the machine? I do it with the built in VNC server right now, but a plaintext interface for use on lower power devices would be neat.

Low power devices??

You can do this with HC.UIMacro function.
These is a detailed explanation in the manual. Just do a search for UIMacro

Easiet way i can think to do it is a web page -
example: <a href="http://0/script.mq?HC.UIMacro('{cue}')>Cue</a>
But you'll get no feed back from the command line.

You'll find it's much better to just use the included remote software though

Other than the various web-based ones, and the dedicated RFU, are there any other options?

I'll look into that function, though.

You van also use remote desk, remote video and remote video follow. Those are flavours of the off-line editor. They leave all the processing on the actual lighting desk, so they can run on lower power devices.
