Time to release a preview of what I have been working on.

The Palette Multi-tool is designed to:
- run on a v.small touch screen display, such as a micro-pc or one of Gooze's cool touch screens he has been mentioning in Beta
- provide corrected S & M key layouts for Palette Consoles
- provide direct access to palettes for the "silver" palette range, using the same 25key style as the VL16/64 consoles
- when used on a portable "touch screen" PC, can be used via wifi as a complex remote, including position and colour control, and full control keypad.
- colour mix tool that provides instant access to all colour parameters (including 6 that can be defined by the user)

Features not yet implemented:
- CMY to RGBA, RGBW, RGBAW conversion (tested, works, bugs to clear)
- Effects Library Tool (uses cue lists to recall (go or load) stored effects.

Here are some screen pix:

Some more shots...

Colour Mix Tool automatically populates its faders with the available colours. Yes, it would be possible to emulate this on the console, but Gary would need to create the HC lua command that allows me to create look pages (hint hint)

25 key palette. Still need to make the labels work though

This guy allows you to stquickly recall (like a palette) any cue stored in these locations. These will be able to be "loaded" or as a "Go".

Finally - here is a "quite buggy" version of the tool. This has been deliberately crippled so that it only runs with an OLE. In the zip file are TWO documents. The dll file needs to be in the same location as the exe file for it to work.

If there is a VB guru that can tell me how to, in a simple multi-threading app, invoke a change on an object parameter (say to change a control's "Visible" setting from true to false), that would help me a great deal. I have worked out the process of invoking a change in the displayed value, but doing the same to a setting like visible is not an easy thing to work out. I can probably work around it, but I am sure I am just not finding the right code solution.

Bah - don't you hate it when you post something, and then you find "issues" that just need correcting!

Previous post updated (for whoever the person was the downloded it)

I tried to download the file but my browser said - 'This function does not exist yet' :D

I love the S&M keys layout, pure gold!

Looking forward to seeing it in full action

Wow!
This looks really promising!
Two remarks. For now it won't connect with my OLE. I've tried demo-mode and normal off-line mode. And both localhost as an adres and 127.0.0.1.

And I should tone down the colourscheme a bit (maybe replace all the green except for the green in RGB mixing tool with amber to make it a bit easier on the eyes)

For the rest I am really looking forward to try it out on the console! Are you planning to sell the app? If so, please hurry! Can't wait!

If it is not working in your OLE, then I probably mucked something up in the connection process. I'll look at it today when I can test it on a few computers. Standby...

OK - I seem to be able to get it to work OK on an external computer, but you do need to have Microsoft .Net 3.5 installed.

er?...
Could not load type 'Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.ShapeContainer' from assembly 'Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Vs
Happens when I press CONNECT (with 127.0.01 or localhost) Odd - .net framework 3.5 is installed and the dll you shipped is in my run directory (actually - I just dropped your exe and your dll on my desktop). OLE is running.

Bummer - I want to try this.

Here is the full setup exe that will check to see what .net you have, install that from MS if needed, and install the powerpack properly...

(I am still learning how to drive VB Express!)

This setup process will not work on a console, but I have previously taken the exe file inside here (with the dll), and run that on the console.
