Open Palette and Vision.net

I'm curious what it would take, and or the possibility of using Open Palette directly with Vision.net. I know the integration between the Palette software and Vision.net exists, that's kinda where this come from. In regards to the V.net touchscreens, since we can already have the "Palette Tab" on the touchscreen, i thought it would be pretty nice to be able to fore-go that for certain situations and just put the Century Array 2 for example, with the Rack Palette's IP address, instead of all the mucking around inside of Variables pages and whatnot.

it would certainly make it SUPER easier for the end user as well.

Thoughts?

It's all Dot.Net so I can't see why those apps would not run on the touch screen with a very small amount of tweaking. As the V.Net product manager for help.

To help improve the VN / Palette integration it would be very useful to have:

1) The Palette understand/speak VN-over-ethernet natively. This would be much more flexible especially with the touchscreen.

2) Extend the Palette VN command set to include native VN commands. Currently we can fire console buttons or ILS presets. It would be great if we could fire VN presets/toggles... I know there is a workaround to allow the Palette to press "Share" buttons but it is certainly not clear or straightforward.

If we were to open this discussion to the VN side of things, there are lots of little things and a few HUGE things that could grow the potential audience for VN and help reduce competitors "spec lock".

Following up from what Robert just said - how would the CueTip FS/PM/SM Open Palette Apps fair as a tab option on a VN touchscreen?

I can see great value in having CueTip SM running on the SMP.

This is definately worth the dialogue. I'm not in a position to look into this right now but I want to talk about it in the future.
