Shouldn't that be password protected or something?

Why?
I think the idea is that the system shut down in automatic mode without user help (and may be sometimes the machine comes back in live with the right wakeup command...)
Everybody who use this command knows what he does. And if not, then he will learn it very fast
Normal users never found this command and if they do, they have the cance to learn something.

It worries me that it can't be done over LAN and for that matter over Wifi.
If you have a theatre full of remotes and phones and laptops, all connected to the main desk, it becomes a dangerous situation

Maybe a countdown warning at the console, and entry in the log.

WARNING: Shutdown command recieved from IP:192.168.0.200. Console will shutdown in 10sec... [Cancel]

I really like John's suggestion.

This also brings up the point of "Disable Remote", a feature that has been on the wishlist for some time. Even cooler would be a mini-firewall to restrict the IP address of allowable remote/telnet connections.

In the 'File' menu you can disable Remote Video. Much more useful would indeed be Disable Remote Connections. I also like the small delay with the countdown that John suggested. Exactly what I had in mind. In case it doesn't happen at an ungodly hour but in the middle of a show.
And... if this command is send, I would suggest the show being saved first. Otherwise you could get a pop-up saying that the checkpoint file is new then the showfile etc.

Of course, personally I'd password protect my wireless network. Preferably WPA as opposed to WEP encryption. :D Being able to restrict IP addresses is handy, until someone who is unfamiliar with TCP/IP settings comes along... (Though, arguably, these people shouldn't be using Telnet...)
As for LAN security... There are no LAN jacks in my theatre with 'patron' or 'john Q public' access... And I trust my co-workers not to jack in and execute a remote shutdown... If there were LAN jacks in the house, I'd be certain to put a locking 'cover' over them.

The ability to 'deny' or 'disable' remote connections would be useful however...

That being said, I can see situations where it would be undesirable... All of which involve having to go back to the console to 'allow' or 're-enable' the connections, because you forgot to do so before heading down to the deck with your laptop/up to the grid in a lift with your remote.

A simple 'user prompt' at console level, informing the operator (if present) that 'Hey, remote shutdown requested, commencing in 10...9...8... etc' giving the operator the ability to cancel within the timeframe offered as John stated is possibly the best solution?

I shall cease rambling.

What would be the easiest way to set a macro to do a cue list release (all)? I don't see a macro for it and for now i have been setting up mutiple macros and using each cue list. There is a macro H.C. Release All () but not sure if it can be used to do a cue list release.

Thanks

you can use the HC.CueListRelease('cue list'[,release_time]) and change the cue list name to the wildcard asterik. (sp?)

HC.CueListRelease('*', 1)

The above example will release all cue lists in 1 sec.
