Hi Robert,

Can you try it in a normal browser(preferably firefox) and see if you get any javascript errors, the words 'Strand Palette' are set via javascript when the 'page' has finished loading. If you are getting an error message would you please let us know...

Can I possibly suggest re-downloading the zip file and re-copying.
I have used this on the Palette VL OS 10.6.3 and the OLE, but I have changed the web server config file - thus the CSS issue earlier....
I have just installed the OLE on another computer and the remote does seem to work straight from the zip file.

Hi Durisian,

Glad you like it,
I am not sure I follow regarding the deselect command being sent on a number press...
In the remote.js file when a number button is pressed it runs the function on line 95, this function adds the selected number to a variable that holds the current selected channels and a variable that holds the display info.
HC.Deselect is only used when the remote is 'reset' i.e on startup and when a command has been run and a new one has started.

I agree with you regarding the ReleaseAll, I will remove it on the next update.

To anyone who has tried it...

In use I have found the need for 'Next' and 'Prev' but I am reluctant to make the buttons smaller to accommodate these...
What would you swap for these?
I am leaning towards removing the '+' and '-' buttons
Thoughts....

Many thanks
Tim

Hi Tom,

Thanks for your comment,
I use the plus all the time but not the minus... but when I was on the desk during focusing (before we had a remote) I used 'next' quite a lot....

I would also lobby for a CUE button.

Wait a sec...

It is an iPhone

Can you code a [Next/Prev] button AND a [+/-] one:
- press and swipe right for next or +
- Press and swipe left for prev or -

???

OR

Press ONCE for Next or +
(Dbl Tap for Prev or -)
...and for more entertainment industry trivia and useless facts, just ask:

OK - a bit of RTFM going on here. My fault.

I never saw this link:
http://dmxgadgets.com/

and particularly this line:
Copy the files from the memory stick to D:\web, you should have the following files in D:\web: index.html, a folder called files, your backup folder 'old'.

I just had all the files in d:\web and no d:\web\files (hence my issue). Sorry

Now I'm very happy. I love this.
I would love to see the single digit entry work (1 @ 5 would take it to 50% rather than 5% and the need for *)

If we gave you an Apache server on the desk, do you think you could do more with this? i.e., use some of the HC.GetValue() commands to draw current levels? We'd be willing to help where we can.
Nice stuff - big Kudos!

Hi,
Great webapp.
Maybe it would be good to do as Tom did and rename the index.html to something else. You'd have to type the name once on your iPhone and make it a bookmark. Now every update of the software you would need to install your webapp again, because the software installation overwrites with the default index.html.
I think that default page should be replaced by either Tom's or your webpage! The one that is there now is a little bit 1995's my first webpage style... :?

About the swiping and other iPhone specific actions... maybe this could help: http://iwebkit.net/
I would think swipe left previous, swipe right next. Keep the buttons for plus and minus.
Maybe there is a way to make the adressbar go away too, full screen would give an extra amount of screen real-estate and looks so much cleaner.

Stumbled across this today when I was getting swipe going for my test and tag register
http://plugins.jquery.com/project/swipe - Could be helpful.

I am not sure I follow regarding the deselect command being sent on a number press...

... neither am I... I can't see it in the code. :?
eg. Type [5][6] [ON] then push [2]. In palette the channels remain captured, but not selected.

If we gave you an Apache server on the desk, do you think you could do more with this? i.e., use some of the HC.GetValue() commands...

mbedthis = where is the manual?
Apache = hell yeah :D

From memory I tried sending commands like that to script.mq a while ago. But couldn't find a way to get returned values.
Apache plus a server side processor, such as PHP can provide the means.
oooo. would be good for things like show reporter too!
OOOOOO. mysql anyone!? data could be stored in a mysql database - easily manipulatable... ... ... :ugeek:

Once you load it with Safari, hit the Add Bookmark button [+] and add to "Home Screen" vs. "Add Bookmark". You then have a new button that looks like an app and it's full screen. Looks soooo slick
