V10.1 , DMX 512

Post by RonFoley » Fri Feb 15, 2008 5:00 pm

we have a location with (2) Classic Palettes and (1) Light Palette LIVE
the one Classic Palette is running the C 21 dimmers thru DMX 512

when they updaqted they were getting flickering on the house lights that are also controled by a Premier System.

putting in a 300 console, or down grading to .15, the fliker went away.

David Park mentioned that this issue is being worked on.

can you update me.

One of the programmers may jump in here, but from what I understand, it is something to do with a firmware update required on some "silver" Palette consoles. I suspect that update will be out very shortly, buried inside the next version of the software 10.0.2.
...and for more entertainment industry trivia and useless facts, just ask:

Exactly John. Thank you.
There was a firmware update to the silver console USB panels that slipped through testing. We're on this like a sailor on a .... (well - never mind).

If you're really stuck, using an SN110 node will produce fine DMX.
Sorry about this,

Follow-up ... we have a potential fix that we are testing now. If all goes well overnight, we'll likely do a beta build of it tomorrow (Friday) so any beta testers who are interested can let it burn in over the weekend with their dmx-ter attached. If all goes well, we'd likely release early next week.

What is the status on the DMX fix? Is there an anticipated re-release date?

The DMX issue has been fixed. It has been rolled into a number of other fixes which should be officially released at the end of this week (should be Friday March 14).
