Auto shut down

Post by bturnbull » Tue Jun 19, 2012 7:14 pm

Recently we upgraded to 10.8.5 on our palette basic, and the console would shut down seemingly every 24 hours or so. Anyone else had this issue or have any ideas as to why? We have put it back to 10.8.4 and the problem seems to have stopped. All thermal shut downs in the bios are off, we took it off the UPS, and have a clock plugged into the same GPO. So it is neither the UPS or GPO.

Does 10.8.5 have issues with windows XP?, is it the shell? any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Nothing was introduced in 10.8.5 that should trigger a shutdown response. Let's see if anyone else has had a similar reaction or if you get more info, please post.

Ok I can now rule OUT the software update, just a ill timed coincidence!. The console has shut down again. Has anyone had problems with power supplys? Has anyone replaced one? Are they a stock standard thing?

Just to be clear, the auto shut down that I am experiencing IS NOT connected to a software update. ( if anyone has an icon of me eating humble pie....please insert here)

No worries. Since this is a tech support issue, why don't you send an email to myself and Doug Pickering (doug.pickering@philips.com). He's the field service manager and we'll get you the help you need.
