Powerpoint VBA macro errors on x64 office

Post by tferr » Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:46 pm

It seems that I cannot launch the macro inside the powerpoint file I downloaded from here to use with Palette's macro control. I load the powerpoint in Office 2010 x64 after lowering the macro security and get this following error in a pop up box.

Code: Select all

Compile error in hidden module: Main.
This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the
version, platform, or architecture of this application. Click "Help" for
information on how to correct this error.
The macro doesn't load and its not controllable with palette (obviously). I figure that the macro inside the powerpoint file was written before VBA 7 came out with the requirement to mark certain pointers as x64 safe. Anyway to get this running on Win 7 x64 with Office x64, or do I have to go find a computer with Office 2003 on it?

Sorry for the double post but I have an update.

Through testing I have found that the macro works on Office 2003/ 2007 on either x86 or x64 computers. The programs have to be the 32-bit version. I does not work on either the 64-bit or 32-bit version of Office 2010. The 64-bit version causes a compile error, and the 32-bit version isn't reading the file name properly as a .pptx file.

If you want to run the macro your stuck using 2003 or 2007.
