Jittery fades

Post by MickCrozier » Mon Oct 10, 2011 1:50 am

I've seen this quite a bit lately - and I'm getting lots of reports of 'jittering fades'. (10.8.4)
eg. The fade begins nice and smooth, then with suddenly stop, for maybe 10-20ms then continue on smoothly.
It's most noticeable with slow moves

I've been getting these reports for well over a year - but seems to have gotten worse.
Is anybody else noticing this?

Check your checkpoint time,
I would bet a dollar that what you see is during an automatic save.

Could this be a console with a fragmented harddrive. Users are not allowed to use the defrag tool so the desk could become more and more fragmented which makes save times probably longer.
