Classic Palette Issues

Post by Hydro » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:55 am

After up-dating our Classic Palette to the latest version (10.8.2) and testing it during the day.
The following evening during plotting the desk crashed without warning. After several attempt's to restart, it still does not want to power-up.

Any hints, other then sending it back to Byte craft.

Always a good idea to check with your local Strand dealer before lifting the hood but if they're cool with it you might try unplugging all the USB cables from the processor inside the console and then try re-starting. Then if the system starts up, shut it down as you normally would, plug the USB cables in again and re-start. I had this problem a while back and that solved it. I believe what caused the problem was someone pressing the on/off button more than once during power-up.

Classic Palette Issues

I had the same thing. My dealer solved it by reverting to 10.8.1 and then do the upgrade again.
It seems like sometimes the USB hardware gets a faulty firmware update.
