crash error3 and Black on stage

Post by PierTis » Mon May 03, 2010 2:10 pm

LP Vl 10.6.4 with BackUp Laptop(Windows7)before the show i clean:
I delete some Channels:
-[S3/De] Ch.X Thru Ch.Y [S1/Yes] "error3"
-LP crash and return on windowsembeded panel.
-Curious i stay in this state; the BackUp open the invit to be principal, i touch nothing:
.no compt of time to take the handle
.Black on stage after 5,6...or 7 seconds
.After accepting the invit, the BackUp passe off line.... i must Enable the Output.

-What is giving the signal to go in Black on stage
-Why don't having the compt to pass one line(on Windows XP i have it)
-Why do i need to EnableOutput
-Is the Windows7 need a spécial configuration or something else that i've not made.

i send 2 Files Systeme and ..spf. txt?
Thanks for your answer.

Black on stage depends on what your dimmers do when they loose DMX. I assume that, because you can simply "take control" of your system, you must be exiting the console via Ethernet. Yes? In that case, it depends on what those devices do when they loose data. Simply unplug to test and see what happens. If they stay on, then the console is spitting out a ZERO level for everything. If the blackout happens anyway, it is not the console.

Not sure what you are asking on your second question. Can you rephrase it?

On the enable output issue, in hardware set up, set the console to Enable outputs on restart, and then test your tracking backup by unplagging the ethernet on your main console. You will get a countdown and the tracking backup will then take over automatically. Depending on your application, this may not be what you want to have happen.

Should be OK on Win7.

hi john,
-of course i know the state of Dimmers" Data Out":
my problem don't come from it(and it's the first time i see that).
i suppose that the main bord don't restart spc after crashing when the Backup Tracking is Active;but somthing have been put a releasing signal...

"..the console to Enable outputs on restart..":your talk about "Force Outputs at Startup on Recovery" in hardware setup?
