Can't Write to Root of D Drive

Post by jgross » Tue Sep 09, 2008 10:43 pm

So I installed a new Classic Palette for a customer today. The board came with 10.1.1 installed from the factory. I tried upgrading to 10.4.2 and received the message "Can't copy file disk in use or you don't have write permissions." (I'm paraphrasing slightly). I checked the properties of the D Drive and indeed, only a "Palette Administrator" has write permissions for the root level. I could copy the updater to the Saved Shows and Backup Installs folders, but not the root level and the updater didn't launch when I restarted with the installer in Backup Shows. Any thoughts?

There was an issue with permissions on a range of Palette series consoles . Below is a link to the tech bulletin and the patch.
