Command History

Post by jamesholt » Tue Feb 19, 2008 12:16 pm

Something I wish the 500 series had and could work with Palette - command history similar to the Windows NT/2k/XP command line and most Unix/Linux ones whereby the last 20 or so commands can be recalled using the up/down arrows and subsequently edited and re-executed. It's an extrapolation of the <1/4> style selection hints that the software currently has... useful if you want to change that value you just entered without having to start from scratch (e.g. [CUE][1][/][5]{Time}[6][*] *oops* [^][<bksp][5][*]).

James Holt

GrandMA does this.
Not a bad feature.

suggestions on how to launch it?
How about entering dot [.] on empty command line.

Dot Dot Dot would scroll you to your third last command.

I want to leave the arrow keys for the Blue Box. So far we're kept that rule and it makes training very easy.

Sounds good. To be fancy you could have [.] + wheel to bring up one of those scrolling list forms with the last 10 or so commands ;)

Really? What's the key sequence? The obvious ones don't work for me... (I'm probably going to look like an idiot after finding out!)

I thought it was [SHIFT] [ENTER] but not sure how often you want to repeat exactly the last command. It's more likely you want three commands ago.
