Hey all,

So there is something bugging me... When I bought my Palette, my dealer told me there exists a free *Strand* branded RFU program available for use on ANY windows mobile PDA with WIFI. Alas, i have been searching for weeks to find said download... I know their is a PC version of the RFU with the OLE, and you can run that on a PDA with a special Visual Basic add in for Windows Mobile, but the software refuses to connect to the console network, but i know the wifi works with the console and the router, because the PDA works with Mote. The next part is, ETC offers a FREE RFU program for any of their current generation consoles for iPhone/iPod Touch, and the best part is, you do have to pay 5 dollars for it, but ETC donates that money to theatre related charities, which is pretty noble for a big corporation to do... SO my question is, When is Strand going to follow suit?

this is why we prefer to sell the PDA and SW as a package as we can't provide tech support for your PDA. So I don't know where the problem is. If it's a sw problem that is repeatable on our PDA, then we can look at it.

2nd part. Don't know.

Curious - My dealer has told me to supply my own 'PDA and Wi-Fi'.

Is there a download for the RFU software for win mobile?
Or is this something the dealer installs for us?

Hey Mick - contact me or Webby off list. We support this hardware in same way as we did the 500 PDA, so we have different options to the rest of the world. Has to do with direct warranty support, distance, costs, etc. Australia is a long way away.

Martinty, The IPhone app for the etc console you mentioned is $49.99 at the IPhone store. Not sure how much of the $49.99 is donated. For that cost compared to most apps thats pretty high. A lot of time must have gone in to building it. I think the Strand guys are working in the right direction, improving the console software.

I would have to agree with Bobby on this one. If you are looking to get a great piece of equipment, that will not let you down, then the package we sell with our consoles will work best.
