pixel range patch

I see that you have added a patch for the effects package for the pixel range. Could you combine the rgba with the effects package with master to make a single patch for the fixtures? The 4+E patch is universal for all the 4 color pixel range fixtures. Otherwise, it is necessary to use 2 different channels to use all the features.

as I understand it, the problem lies in the number of cells used and how you have them broken down in patch.

Actually no, the addition of the pixel fx patch allows the use of the built in effects of the pixel range, however it requires two patches for access, one for rgba and one for the 6 fx channels. Example, rgba patch on channel 256 (4 addresses) and fx patch (6 addresses) on 257. An alltogether patch would be 11 addresses in sequence. 4 for rgba, 6 for the two fx groups and 1 for intensity.

So if I get this (and there is no guarantee that I do) the benefit of doing it with a separate fixture is that it can affect multiple cells or multiple lights.

The downside is that if you want to add these for one unit then you have to address it as a separate fixture.

Yes, if combined in one patch, then all the built in effects in the fixture and all the built in board effects would be available with one channel address. The current method requires one channel for palette control and one channel to use the on board effects package. My primary interest is the rainbow scroll that is built into the fixture. On the 110 model, the rainbow scrolls across the length of the fixture *about 4 feet) using only one channel. The fixture doesn't have to be broken down into 11 separate cells. I used the built in rainbow effect at Christmas but the scroll is per fixture not across the length. It is something I asked for a year ago so I an greatful for the addition of the built in package, I just would like to see the two patches combined into one.
