Small Question

Post by soundguy99 » Thu Mar 08, 2012 6:23 pm

Hey guys,
Have a quick question about programming effects on moving lights, that I can`t seem to find any where in the manuals.
When programing a balleyhoo for some macs on the Pallet VL, I go into position then [SHIFT] + [EFFECTS] select balleyhoo, the macs start to move in the balleyhoo with no problems.
But heres the question in terms of tracking within the cue list, I have noticed that if I used that approach as I described above using the [SHIFT] + [EFFECTS] and recording that cue, when I go to the next cue even though the Shutters on the Maxs are off the BalleyHoo is still showing up on the macs with macs still moving as indicated by the Pan and Tilt Values changing.
However if I use the same exact example, only this time instead of hitting [SHIFT}+[EFFECTS] I hit [ALT}+[EFFECTS] the balleyhoo doesn`t get tracked to the next cue, therefor both the Pan and Tilt values go to 0 on the next cue.
Keep in mind in the hardware setup option I have set the console to track only mode.
What is the significant difference between shift and Alt effects as it relates to tacking the Intelligent fixtures effects.
I have tried to look through the manual and I haven`t found a good clear description of what the difference is.
Was hopping some one here can help Clarify this for me,
Any help is greatly appreciated,
Thanks,
soundguy

Not surprising that there is something here that I wasn't aware of. I'll have to play with that and discover a bit.
