RGB Color mixing for a newbie board op

Post by JJW » Thu Mar 11, 2010 8:57 am

Hello all

I am a really really new board op for my school's lighting console.

I have set up 3 strand leko 25/50's with Red, Green, and Blue gels. How do I get the board to color mix them for me automatically? Should I patch the 3 circuits into the same channel and do something with said channel?

Can the same thing be done with a cyc?

I am really new to this so if you could walk me through it if I was a kindergarden kid, I would be deeply grateful for any and all help.

Thank you very kindly :)

Is what I need to know, the following, to solve my woes?

I need to figure out how to make the board realize that this or that exact fixture has this exact gel in it.

That way I can select the fixtures I want with the mouse, go to "tools" and then "color-picker", and color mix this that way.

Would that be the easiest way for me to color mix with my 3 strand lekos?

Look at this post viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2399&p=11921&hilit=rgb+cyc#p11921
It talks about it a little. You would need to patch a rgb fixture then put your leko dmx channels in that fixture. Then you would select the rgb fixture from the live screen and you would be able to use the color picker.
