Control Panel

Post by commander005 » Tue Jan 05, 2010 10:17 am

Hello,
I am currently operating the Preset Palette II and need some assistance. Our church shares its building with the school, and we do not want the school to have access to the new light board and they can not get that when we say don't use it to not use it. They are continually using it so we have resulted in hiding the power cord, for now. Because the software in the board is xp is there a way to put some type of parental controls on so it asks for password so the school can not get on?

Thanks for your responses,

AJ

If I were you, I would initially remove the channel key. This does two things:
- turns the console into a seven channel console
- stops the kids from discovering and stealing the USB key.

In the long term, I would:
- secure the lid of the console (so that the key cannot be stolen). see this post viewtopic.php?f=31&t=1839&p=8771&hilit=key+lock#p8771
- talk to your console supplier about replacing the front power switch with a key switch.

They key idea I will use thank you, but the issue was nothing being stolen, just being used without permission. The school and the church is combined , they don't steel parts of it but there not supposed to use it and they don't get that, :l but I will use the key start idea thank u very much! :)

Don't loose te key. It is VERY expensive to replace. That is why in the long run, you might want to think about a "cleaner" solution.
