Select with Blocks

Post by BobbyHarrell » Sat Aug 08, 2009 9:16 pm

So I'm trying to grab a set of fixtures...say 1 thru 100 but I want every 4 channels. However I want the equivalent of a Block of 2 so that I have 1,2,5,6,9,10...and so only.

I don't know how to do this and my brain is mush.

I don't know if this is the easiest way, but I did this:
1 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 1 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
+ 2 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 2 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
@ 50 (or whatever level, color etc.)
1 thru 2+5.tiff
1 thru 2+5.tiff (251.29 KiB) Viewed 770 times

It seems that there is no easy way to do this. What I would like to see is a Block softkey under Pattern so that I could type...

1 THRU 100 S12-Select S6-Pattern 4 M1-Block 2 ENTER to grab 1,2,5,6,9,10...

I figured it out. I didn't really understand how the select pattern worked the first time around. Here's what I typed:
1 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 2 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
select pattern 2 every 4.tiff
select pattern 2 every 4.tiff (440.25 KiB) Viewed 719 times

Based on Robert's note's in the earlier thread:

1 [Thru] 100 [S12-Select] [S6-Pattern] 2 [Thru] 4 [Enter]

gives me 1, 2, 5, 6, 9, 10, 13, 14...

So that is pretty much:

{range} [S12-Select] [S6-Pattern] {how many} [Thru] {every so many} [Enter]

To be even more precise:

{range} [S12-Select] [S6-Pattern] ({how many} [Thru] ){every so many} [Enter]
