Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???
Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???
Hi Brian,
the scanners are always running in mode 3 and we cant change that, cuz they are fix installed at the ceiling of our house.
The scanners are running perfect on the 520. ( also mode 3 )
I dont know, what is here the problem. And alsö, why did strand ask me for all values if they program other things?? I dont need degrees in movement.
We will remove this desk and use our 530 again.
Maybe in 1 year or under the leadership of Selecon something will change.
We need a desk that we can trust if we are making shows and theaters.

Not to be sticking needles in anybodies eyes, (and totally off topic) but it's my understanding that Selecon was acquired by Phillips, and only the lighting fixture portion of Strand is being integrated with Selecon (aka no more SL series fixtures). The leadership at Selecon isn't actually running Strand now.hollipe wrote:

You are absolutely correct. Only the fixtures got integrated with Selecon, and no more SL fixtures.jgoss wrote:Not to be sticking needles in anybodies eyes, (and totally off topic) but it's my understanding that Selecon was acquired by Phillips, and only the lighting fixture portion of Strand is being integrated with Selecon (aka no more SL series fixtures). Peter,
Please be patient like Bobby, Alan, and others have stated. The new software should solve you major problems, and make you happy.
What is your current software that you are running? 10.6.1? Have you had the opportunity to try a beta version at all?
Let me know. I would love to help. I have your same console sitting right next to me all the time. So if you want me to try something, let me know.

Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???
I understand the frustration in these posts. After all, if I am having trouble running my show, my superiors will fire ME. In this economy we feel the pressure of performing and value our jobs. So when we have issues with the lighting desk, then our crew goes into overtime, strand does not pay that bill.
We have been struggling with this desk since before the os 10. Right now we have the Basic Palette I (with a GENLYTE company name on it). Will os 10.6.3 function on this? Is this light board still supported?

Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???
Your board is entirely still supported. 10.6.3 is designed for the whole range of Palettes from the Basic to the Lightpalette VL, including older silver desks. If you are having specific issues currently, please make them known. The developers at Horizon are very good about responding to issues.
Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???
Using now 10.6.6 and still crashing.
We are changing this desk to our old strand 530i-- this one is working.
The LightPaletteVL is moving in the corner with a note: Please dont feed!! ( without a dustcover )
On the 530 im using just the subs for the dmx input of the X1. ( Bluelite )
Works very fine without troubles.
Have a nice time,
Peter

Can you send the Feedback Logs so that we attempt to determine the cause?

Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???

many thanks to Bobby , the new software release 10.8.2 is great now.
We tried the beta first, now this also seems to run stable, I know the bug in the quattro-dmx board- what ever.
And the very great feature now, the " assert only" , thanks Bobby.
There are still some little things we would like to have.
I.e. in the setup there should it be possible to set the assert only too. ( for the lookmasters )
But we can live with this release now.
It is also very great, to have a lot of executerbuttoms now, when setting to " looks on playbacks ".
Therefor it is always very helpful to read the release notes.
So it seems to get a great desk.
Have a nice time,
Peter
