Price

Does anyone know how much I should expect to spend on one of those wireless PDA RFU's? I need to propose the idea to a bunch of finance people, and i can't get a quote that quickly.

There is no easy way to answer that, because every part of the world has different costs to get an RFU to your door. (Might help if you update your login profile so we know where in the world you are).

I would say, get yourself an industrial grade wifi-router and any windows mobile phone with wifi and you're done. This way you have a little bit of choice in hardware, you can update/upgrade yourself and you can use existing hardware.
If you want the official support and guaranteed support for future upgrades I would go after your local Strand dealer and make him quote!

You are right, I should (and will after posting this message) update my profile. Is it actually possible to set up a network with any windows mobile PDA? I would have to download the software (which I have no idea where to get), and doesn't the counsole have to be "authorized" to let a remote work? I hope I'm wrong about that. And thanks for the document, it's a good read.
