You will probably need to re-patch once you install this.
Gary fixed an earlier bug that kept the address from being in the correct column in patch.

Keep your old library from Saved Installs in case things go south.

Enjoy!

Re: DL2

Just did a demo a couple of DL2s on the LightPalette Live (although I ran the demo from my laptop). The demo went great (the show is in 3 weeks) as we just wanted to make sure that everything worked with our console (even though the rental company shipped a Wholehog 2 iPC in case). I did discover a couple of things that I thought I would bring up here. I ran into one parameter that I had built a preset for at 50% which with the Palette OS is a DMX value of 127 whereas on a Hog 50% is a value of 128. For the preset in question I adjusted it to be 51% and the difference of DMX value of 2 doesn't really matter in this case.

The other problem I'm having and one that I don't really understand, and I don't think making it a value of 128 instead of 127 is going to fix it. When I bring up a media file it looks like the X, Y (and probably Z) scales seem to be incorrect. The manual states that 50% (128) should be the default value. But it actually ends up being a value of 28% where the image appears to be scaled to 1:1 as it states in the manual. One option is to change the defaults, but this doesn't seem right.

As a note, I pulled out the Hog2 iPC and when I opened up one of the media files it was scaled normally at 1:1. Strange.

One other thing that I was not sure if I could do was being able to control the minimum and maximum tilt of the fixture by just applying the min/max setting in Patch by Output on the Tilt Hi channel of the fixture. Where we would like to hang the fixtures would mean that the tilt cannot go past 90 degrees in either direction or it will hit the ceiling.

The only thing you can do is what we did before. Default all attributes in real life, then send me a file and I'll update the library.

Andrew, how did the DL2's work out for your show. Did the software have any problems operating the DL2's, any pointers you can give. I'm looking at using 2 for a show I have upcoming.

Although we would have loved to have had more programming time, the DL2s worked great! I spent a fair amount of time building palettes for the fixtures but in the end the palettes I built were mostly used when "playing" with the fixtures and not so much for the programming of them. Once we got our basic positions setup that included our collaging the fixtures, keystones, etc. I found that almost all of the media library stuff was called for by a folder and media file number rather then by the palettes that I had built that included some of that information. The LD for the show had a print out of the stock content and so was just working from the numbers when talking with the operators.

The only problem we ran into when we first setup the fixtures was all of the media seemed to be zoomed in (X and Y scaling). Brian changed the attributes in the fixture library so those attributes defaulted to 28% rather then the 50% that is recommended in the fixture manual's DMX protocol. Looking through everything with the fixture we never really found where the problem was but I'm pretty certain it was the console and not the fixtures (we also tested them with a Hog 2 PC at one point). Regardless, once we got the fixture library updated we were off to the races and had a blast.

If you are busking a show with them I'm sure having the palettes set up ahead of time would have been more important.

Good luck and let me know if there are any more questions.
