Error message On Backup

Post by SimonWatson » Mon Sep 29, 2008 5:56 am

If I load a different show file onto my main Palette VL, I get the following error on the backup "Tracking backup has been disabled. The authorization for tracking console must meet or exceed the main console". Not sure what this means or were I change authorization levels for different consoles. Any ideas?

It is to do with the number of "channels" each of your consoles is authorised for. For Tracking Backup to function, if the MAIN console has permission to run 450 channels, the tracking console must be 450 channels or more.

Is this set by the actual dongle inside the desk? Both the desk and the backup are reading the same number of channels etc in the patch screen.

Yes it is set by the dongle inside the desk - and there must be a separate dongle (identical or better ch count) for the tracking console. TRACKING console is very different to REMOTE console...

When you are running a REMOTE session, you will see the ch count from the main console. The second console is not being a backup - just a glorified remote control.
