saving backup file

Post by barbarab » Mon Sep 15, 2008 5:09 pm

Hey I know there was a thread on this in Hints but I am definitely asking Questions :)
To save a backup file on a stick drive, and to avoid "pointing" to the external drive next time, I should use Backup not Save As? Where is Backup-- not under the file menu?
Can I replace my old backup file with this one, or does it always create a new file?
And finally, if I accidentally try to save using the Save Show softkey and it's pointed to the wrong drive and the save doesn't work, is there any way to stop it trying to save without shutting down?
thank you

What I recommend is using "Mirror Save".
This is found under Show Options | Show Save.

This way, every time you hit the save button,
you have a complete file and archives on your stick drive.

The primary file being on your console HD.

How does "Mirror Save" react to the absence of the thumb drive?

You will see in the HISTORY display that a mirror saved failed. It is in BOLD RED text. It will not try again in the same session.
