Grandmasters Control Effects

Is there a way to have one of the grandmasters to control effects? If it were just like the conventional fixture selection, it just understood that if I had an effect running in an effect, to run the master down and take down the intensity of the effect, or even the intensities of the channels in th...

Effects

I have an effect running, and then a cue that takes it out on a 3 count. The next cue brings back the same effect (like a pause for only a moment). Why is it that when I run that 3 count cue that takes the effect out, and before it can complete, i run the next cue, it reads the "new" effect as the o...

Movement Effect Can-Can BPM

The designer we just had in used A LOT of can-can and ballyhoo. She did ask an interesting question that I didn't have an answer to: What is the percentage relative to on the rate of the effect? I went into the manual and got nothing. I told her that is was relative to the rate, hahaha! The reason s...

Gobo Rotate

When I select both and I proceed to the gobo page of the VL's, where I can edit the rotation speed and the direction yada yada, it says both are going CW. I kno...

Do you mean the big yellowish bubble? I agree that it quite often presents you with the choice out of unlikely options. The increments are often way too high or unlogic.

Encoder Settings

On some of the effects, when you want to change the rate or the scale and you hit the button underneath the encoder, it gives you a window with options of percentages available to you. Is it possible to have someway of manually setting these options so they aren't just 100% values, say 5% or 10% or ...

Re: Choppy Submasters

Perhaps the boffins that are designing the next generation of consoles will build into the one surface two completely discrete Brains - internalise the tracking backup process, and have each CPU monitor the other one so that it can self correct. That would be nice - and you could leave the console ...

Re: Choppy Submasters

Here is a rough play by play of the events of the past three days: 1) Loaded dance patch with imported cues from previous years dance ballet show. Included in this was Imported cues that the designer had wanted from our 550 that we replaced. 2) We had a laptop that was running a remote video session...
