Re: DMX in rant

What DMX speed was the Express spitting out? I have found that my Shownet nodes respond quite well with any ETC console spitting out at "Fast" or "Medium." "Maximum" speed will not work, and I can't say I've ever tried "Slow." Off the top of my head I do not recall what the refresh rate is for each ...

Re: Select with Blocks

I figured it out. I didn't really understand how the select pattern worked the first time around. Here's what I typed:
1 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 2 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
select pattern 2 every 4.tiff
select pattern 2 every 4.tiff (440.25 KiB) Viewed 722 times

Re: Select with Blocks

I don't know if this is the easiest way, but I did this:
1 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 1 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
+ 2 thru 100 [Select] [Pattern] 2 [thru] (displays "every") 4 [Enter]
@ 50 (or whatever level, color etc.)
1 thru 2+5.tiff
1 thru 2+5.tiff (251.29 KiB) Viewed 773 times

The EOS/ION platform runs on XP Embeded, just like the Palette. ETC has just hidden the Windows UI "better."
The iPhone runs a version of OS X, which has Unix at the core.

Re: 10.6 Tutorial: POST2 - Record Cue

You have some redundant information about removing redundant data on page 18, & then again on page 22 (and then again on page 50 again). :D You mention the GOTO command and asserting cues, but the tutorial doesn't really discuss what asserting a cue actually means in a multiple cue list environment....

Re: 10.6 Tutorial: POST2 - Record Cue

Bobby- I noticed on Page 8 you detail what the different colors for the channel levels mean when you're sitting in a cue. This assumes we're using a Palette Classic Personality, but it doesn't mention that anywhere in the tutorial. Will this confuse people that are using either of the 500 series per...

Re: Why is it so hard, to make a good lighting desk???

Maybe in 1 year or under the leadership of Selecon something will change. Not to be sticking needles in anybodies eyes, (and totally off topic) but it's my understanding that Selecon was acquired by Phillips, and only the lighting fixture portion of Strand is being integrated with Selecon (aka no m...

Re: Different open source apps as widgets?

Maybe it could be placed with the Menu -> Display -> Other Window, which then appear (as you choose more then one) in one tabbed window. It could be the same as your tabbed browsing in Safari or Firefox. Tabs need to be big enough for use with a touchscreen. I like the tabbed browsing idea, and I d...

Re: Help- Wild DMX??

I had an issue a couple years ago with a scroller power supply that was messing up the entire DMX chain. I don't remember where it was in the signal chain, but it was not obvious until we reconnected everything one at a time. Swapping out the scroller power supply was the only thing that fixed it.
