XML

From http://www.strandlighting.com/clientuploads/directory/downloads/classicPaletteData_swv10.pdf Screen layouts and network communications use XML, making it easy to communicate with other cool products (and not just ours) over the network. I haven't seen any reference to XML or details of the Pale...

Re: Patching Issues

I don't think they used 2.1. They say 501 and know the ML should be dialed up to 1 vs. saying 513 and knowing the ML should be dialed to 1. Sounds fair enough. Agreed that generaly you wouldn't be spanning DMX universes, but we have to concider that some people work differently and last thing I wan...

Re: Patching Issues

This happens with other commands too such as (in live) [1][@][<bksp] will select fixture 1 instead of just wiping "At"... call me a DOS/UNIX luddite if you wish but I don't think a real command line should lock in commands until the user hits enter or triggers enter in single/two digit mode (but sh...

Re: Patching Issues

Does anyone set their Ethernet->DMX gear to not start at 1/513/1025/etc? Local 58 (Toronto) often starts them on 501, 1001, 1501. There are advantages to this and you only end up wasting 11 DMX slots. Hmm... personally it'd drive me nuts having the console tell me a fixture is on 2.1 when it's real...

Re: Command History

suggestions on how to launch it? How about entering dot [.] on empty command line. Sounds good. To be fancy you could have [.] + wheel to bring up one of those scrolling list forms with the last 10 or so commands ;) I often use it on 500 series Really? What's the key sequence? The obvious ones don'...

Command History

Something I wish the 500 series had and could work with Palette - command history similar to the Windows NT/2k/XP command line and most Unix/Linux ones whereby the last 20 or so commands can be recalled using the up/down arrows and subsequently edited and re-executed. It's an extrapolation of the <1...

OLE: Minimise main window also minimises secondary window

As per the subject - my home PC has two monitors so it's great being able to use the secondary (intensities/ML) window, however it would also be nice to see all of my desktop when I tell the off line editor to sit in the taskbar for a while. Also something a lot more piddly (priority in the negative...

Re: Patching Issues

Got some more to add to the list... Power patch won't accept universe.address syntax in the output start field (using numbers or characters for the universe)... found that out the hard way after it repatched outputs 1.1 thru 1.50something without prompting! If you tab out of the output start field y...

Similar to [1][+][3][@ATT]{Position}[.] on a 300/500?

Re: Control Channels

If it were me, this is what I would do: [snip] Sounds like a pretty good plan to me! Assuming Strand/HCI buy USB keys in bulk you could include the small cost of the key with the rental charge - once it's expired after a show the op can take home a nice new Strand-branded USB key (and there wouldn'...
